Fire Safety 101

Fire safety and escape is extremely important for all home owners. Are you new to owning your own home? Here are a few great tips to get you and your family started with a plan of action during times of emergency.
·         Share Knowledge – Keep everyone in your family “in the loop” when it comes to fire safety. Have a meeting place decided, so that your family can reunite after an emergency. Also, let family members know where the ResQLadder® is located to decrease panic during a fire.
·         Practice – Families should have a refresher on the plan every month to keep the whole family on the same page. Consider practicing with your family to escape the house through 2 exits in a certain amount of time. This will increase urgency and help your family feel prepared in case of a crisis.
·         Check Smoke Alarms Regularly – Smoke alarms should be placed in every living and sleeping area of the home. Also, there should be at least one smoke alarm on each floor of your home. In case of fire, store an emergency escape ladder in second and third story rooms.
